

Muscat, Oman — Swiss-Belhotel International has announced the signing of Swiss-Belhotel Nizwa, marking a significant step in the group’s ongoing expansion across the Middle East. Scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2026, the upscale property will bring the brand’s signature blend of Swiss professionalism and Asian passion to one of Oman’s most historic and culturally rich destinations.
The management agreement was recently formalized between Swiss-Belhotel International and Bawareq Nizwa International for Investment SAOC.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Salim Abdullah Ahmed Al Abadi, Chairman of Bawareq Nizwa International for Investment SAOC, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Swiss-Belhotel International to introduce a globally recognized hospitality brand to Nizwa. Located in the heart of Nizwa, the upcoming hotel will feature 81 elegantly designed rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant, coffee shop, function hall, fitness center, steam room, and swimming pool. The property will also include conference facilities and commercial leasing spaces, offering guests a contemporary experience infused with authentic Omani heritage.

Oman’s tourism sector continues its upward trajectory as part of the national Vision 2040 strategy to diversify the economy and establish tourism as a key pillar of growth. According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the country welcomed over 3.8 million international visitors in 2024. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism projects this figure to rise to 11.7 million annually by 2040, driven by major investments in hospitality, infrastructure, and leisure developments.
