Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – SF Marina Systems has completed the installation of a state-of-the-art floating concrete fuel dock at Pier Sixty-Six Marina in Fort Lauderdale, marking a significant upgrade that enhances the marina’s ability to serve today’s growing fleet of large yachts while improving safety and operational efficiency.

Designed with a wider platform and increased freeboard, the new fuel dock offers safer, smoother berthing and fueling operations in one of South Florida’s busiest marina destinations. The upgrade addresses the increasing demands created by larger vessels and higher traffic volumes, providing marina staff and visiting boaters with a more efficient and reliable fueling experience.

Built to accommodate a broad range of vessels, the dock combines SF Marina’s durable floating concrete technology with a comprehensive utilities package. The installation includes high-capacity fueling systems, an on-site pump-out station, freshwater service, fire protection equipment, and integrated LED lighting to improve visibility, accessibility, and overall safety.

“At Pier Sixty-Six Marina, we require docks that are virtually maintenance-free and capable of accommodating vessels of every size,” said Megan Lagasse, Marina Director at Pier Sixty-Six. “These docks provide the strength and stability needed for superyachts up to 122 meters while remaining welcoming and practical for smaller boats—a combination that few dock systems can achieve.”

The project comprises three SF Marina Type 1540 single-cast floating concrete dock units, each measuring 4 meters by 23 meters, creating a total dock length of approximately 70 meters. Engineered for demanding marina operations, the installation features a 710mm freeboard and steel guide piles protected by HDPE sleeves for long-term durability.

Additional features include double rows of composite rub rails that protect vessels while serving as convenient boarding steps for boats with lower freeboards. Off-center internal pile guides equipped with cushion block technology and safety covers contribute to a clean, unobstructed deck layout. Heavy-duty 5-ton mooring cleats and stainless-steel 10-ton bollards complete the system, enabling the dock to safely accommodate everything from center-console boats to the largest yachts calling at Pier Sixty-Six Marina.
