Gdańsk, Poland – Sunreef Yachts has unveiled the complete photo shoot of the highly anticipated Ultima 55, the first model in the shipyard’s new line of performance-oriented luxury catamarans. Tailored for modern explorers and adventure-driven yacht owners, the Ultima 55 introduces an edgier and more dynamic design language, foil-assisted efficiency, and thrilling top speeds of 38 knots, while preserving the signature luxury, comfort, and craftsmanship that define the Sunreef brand.

With five hulls already launched and nine currently under construction, the model stands among the company’s most successful debuts.
“We listened closely to our clients,” said Francis Lapp, Sunreef’s founder and CEO. “Many of them love our sustainable, solar-powered luxury catamarans, but some sought a smaller, faster, and more agile version. That vision became the Ultima line, and the response to the Ultima 55 has exceeded expectations.”
A Fresh Concept for a New Era
The Ultima 55 stays true to Sunreef’s design DNA while pushing boundaries. The catamaran features familiar details—such as chamfered edges, elegantly curved aft sections, and expansive dark glass surfaces—yet its overall aesthetic is sharper and more aggressive. A bold reverse bow, deeper chines, and forward-raked saloon window mullions underscore its athletic character.

Hidden beneath the twin hulls, a robust foil enhances lift and reduces drag, optimizing speed and efficiency.
Deck design mirrors the functionality found on larger Sunreef yachts. Twin fold-down wings create a 7.6-meter-wide waterside platform, while the flush deck flows seamlessly into the main saloon, forming an expansive social hub complete with modular seating, sun loungers, and optional bar setups.
A generous foredeck offers an additional lounge area with abundant airflow, and the aft deck provides smart storage solutions for tenders, jetskis, and water toys via a removable crane arm that stores invisibly when not in use.
A Sleek, Customizable Experience
The Ultima 55’s superstructure can be opened to merge indoor and outdoor living spaces or fully closed to create a refined, climate-controlled environment. The galley and helm station connect naturally with the cockpit, keeping guests, hosts, and captain engaged even at top speed.

Sunreef’s design team offers two curated interior themes—one featuring rich oak paired with carbon-fiber accents and natural textiles. Owners, however, can fully personalize their yacht, choosing bespoke materials, finishes, and color palettes.
Below deck, the yacht accommodates a spacious master suite, a VIP stateroom, and an additional guest/crew cabin, each with ensuite facilities. Despite its performance orientation, the Ultima 55 preserves Sunreef’s hallmark comfort without compromising weight efficiency.
Technology Driving Comfort and Efficiency
As with all Sunreef yachts, the Ultima 55 integrates intelligent onboard systems. High-performance solar panels on the coach roof produce significant renewable energy to support onboard power needs.

The first unit is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS800 drives, offering exceptional manoeuvrability and optimal performance. Sunreef has already launched versions featuring hybrid configurations, with twin 350 kW electric motors that enable silent cruising and rapid battery charging.
A surface-drive option is also available for reduced draft.

With a 1,500-litre fuel capacity, the Ultima 55 delivers impressive range—sufficient for voyages such as Capri to Porto Cervo. The carefully engineered foil system reduces drag by generating lift between the hulls, improving efficiency without elevating the vessel fully out of the water. The deck, built entirely from carbon composite, further reduces weight.
A Growing Fleet
The Ultima line spans six models ranging from 44 to 111 feet, marking a new chapter in Sunreef’s performance-driven luxury portfolio.
With strong demand and ongoing production momentum, the Ultima 55 is already shaping up to be a standout success in the global catamaran market.
