Cervia, Italy – TYKUN has taken a significant step in its growth strategy with the full operation of MED Group’s new shipyard, a major industrial investment designed to strengthen the brand’s position in the high-performance chase boat market while supporting the development of its next generation of vessels.
The new production facility marks a key milestone in TYKUN’s evolution. Having initially established itself in the rigid inflatable boat (RIB) segment, the brand has steadily expanded into the design and production of larger, more sophisticated high-performance platforms for both professional and leisure applications. This transition has increased demand for advanced manufacturing capabilities capable of accommodating larger and more technically complex vessels.

Developed as part of MED Group’s long-term industrial strategy, the new shipyard has been purpose-built to deliver higher standards of technological innovation, production efficiency, and energy performance. The facility enables TYKUN to manage the entire production process in-house, reducing dependence on external suppliers while strengthening quality control across every stage of construction.
By keeping operations in Italy’s Upper Adriatic region, MED Group also reinforces its commitment to the local industrial ecosystem and its highly skilled workforce, preserving the technical expertise that has played a central role in TYKUN’s engineering and product development.

TYKUN represents the evolution of a technical platform originally developed by MED Group for professional, governmental, and defence operations before being successfully adapted for the leisure and superyacht sectors. Today, the brand offers a portfolio of high-performance aluminium chase boats and tenders that combine advanced engineering, exceptional performance, operational safety, and flexible configurations.
Built on the principles of reliability, performance, and onboard comfort, TYKUN’s vessels draw on MED Group’s extensive experience in demanding operational environments while meeting the expectations of owners and operators in the luxury yachting market.

The new shipyard provides the industrial capacity needed to support the continued expansion of the TYKUN range by ensuring seamless integration between design, engineering, and manufacturing. It also enhances the company’s ability to efficiently deliver projects of varying complexity while maintaining production and engineering standards that meet the expectations of the international superyacht industry.
The expanded production capabilities will also support the launch of TYKUN’s new flagship model, the TYKUN XII, which is set to make its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.

“We believed in this company from the moment we acquired it four years ago,” said Marco Galimberti, CEO of MED Group. “We started with a business focused on the RIB segment up to 12 metres, but as the market evolved and new technological demands emerged, we recognised the need to broaden both our vision and our production capabilities. MED Group’s new shipyard was created precisely to meet this need by providing the space and infrastructure required to build larger vessels with greater safety and efficiency, enhanced process control, and reduced reliance on subcontracted operations.”
The investment further strengthens MED Group’s position in the high-performance vessel sector while reinforcing TYKUN’s long-term growth strategy. With expanded production capacity and enhanced engineering capabilities, the company is well positioned to accelerate its global expansion and further establish itself as a leading player in the next generation of high-performance chase boats.
