Groot-Ammers – The Netherlands – Zeelander Yachts has delivered a new Zeelander 8, the latest example of its 24-metre (79ft) flagship model, showcasing the shipyard’s hallmark approach to fully bespoke yacht building.
Constructed in limited numbers at the company’s Dutch facility, the Zeelander 8 continues to carve out a distinctive position in the fast-cruising segment. The model combines high-performance capabilities with generous onboard accommodation, sculpted exterior styling and a level of craftsmanship more commonly associated with larger superyachts.
A Fully Bespoke Design
Each Zeelander 8 is individually configured, and this latest delivery demonstrates the breadth of customization available. A standout feature is the reimagined main galley, centered around a multifunctional island that serves as both a breakfast bar and social hub. The helm station has been designed with expanded seating to enhance comfort while underway, while a dedicated bar area with L-shaped seating creates a more spacious and sociable lounge environment.

Inside, the yacht features a carefully curated material palette. Gloss-finished teak flooring is paired with refined leather accents, while gold-tone detailing is integrated throughout—from fittings and fixtures to exterior highlights and even the waterline—creating a seamless visual flow between interior and exterior spaces.
Built for an Active Lifestyle
Designed with owner-operators in mind, the yacht supports an active life at sea. Ample storage accommodates a wide range of watersports equipment, including diving gear, Seabobs, kitesurfing equipment and flyboards. A Williams 435 jet tender ensures fast and comfortable transfers to shore and nearby anchorages.
The layout also offers flexibility, with crew quarters for up to three that can be converted into additional guest accommodation. In total, the yacht can host up to nine guests on board.
High Performance, Low Noise
Performance remains a defining feature of the Zeelander 8. The yacht can be equipped with up to four Volvo Penta IPS-1350 engines, enabling top speeds of 40 knots. At a cruising speed of 32 knots, it delivers a range of approximately 630 nautical miles, while reducing speed to 7 knots extends the range to an impressive 2,700 nautical miles.
The IPS propulsion system also facilitates joystick docking, simplifying manoeuvring for private owners. Notably, the yacht maintains exceptionally low noise levels, averaging just 65 decibels at full speed—comparable to normal conversation—thanks to proprietary, patent-pending sound and vibration reduction technologies.
Engineered for Longevity
In line with Zeelander’s engineering philosophy, durability is prioritized alongside aesthetics. Exterior wood elements are recreated in glassfibre using an advanced painted wood-grain technique, eliminating the maintenance demands of traditional varnished wood. These surfaces are further protected by a self-healing film coating.

Synthetic teak decking enhances practicality while preserving a classic yacht appearance, contributing to a vessel designed to retain its elegance over time.
A Reflection of Brand Philosophy
According to Chairman Sietse Koopmans, the yacht embodies the yard’s core ethos: delivering highly personalized vessels without compromise. Each project reflects the client’s vision, whether through bold design choices or subtle refinements.
Fully built in the Netherlands and produced in very limited numbers, the Zeelander 8 represents the pinnacle of the shipyard’s design, engineering and bespoke craftsmanship.
