Dubai, UAE – Bombardier has announced the entry into service of its Global 8000 aircraft, setting a new benchmark in business aviation with a top speed of Mach 0.95, the highest ever achieved by a civil aircraft and the fastest in business jet history.
The ultra-long-range Global 8000 is designed to significantly reduce travel times while ensuring passengers arrive refreshed and mission-ready. The milestone was unveiled during the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas, underscoring Bombardier’s latest advancement in high-speed, long-range aviation.
“This achievement reflects the exceptional expertise and dedication of our teams who brought this industry-leading aircraft to life,” said Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier. “With the Global 8000, our customers can now reach their destinations faster than ever before, without compromising comfort or performance.”
Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development at Bombardier, described the aircraft as a game changer. “Already the fastest business jet ever built, the Global 8000 now redefines the ultra-long-range segment. This accomplishment highlights the innovation, technical excellence and relentless commitment of our design, flight test and production teams.”
Beyond speed, the Global 8000 delivers exceptional agility and one of the smoothest rides in its class. Its advanced wing design, equipped with leading-edge slats, provides class-leading runway performance comparable to that of a light jet and allows access to up to 30 percent more airports than competing aircraft.
Cabin comfort and technology also set the Global 8000 apart. The aircraft features four distinct living spaces, a dedicated crew rest area, the longest seated length in its category and an ultra-low cabin altitude designed to enhance passenger well-being and productivity. With these capabilities, Bombardier positions the Global 8000 as the ultimate choice for owners and operators seeking speed, range and uncompromising comfort—making it, in the company’s words, the fastest “time machine” in the skies.
