Providenciales, Turks & Caicos – Kempinski Hotels, Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, has officially commenced construction on Kempinski Grace Bay, a highly anticipated hotel and residential development set along the world-renowned Grace Bay Beach. Developed in partnership with international award-winning real estate firm JTRE, the project marks a major milestone for the region’s growing luxury market and introduces a rare opportunity for private ownership on one of the most celebrated coastlines in the Caribbean.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held late Thursday afternoon against Grace Bay’s iconic turquoise waters, brought together top government officials and global partners. Among the attendees were The Honourable Charles Washington Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Her Excellency Anya Williams, Deputy Governor, who joined international representatives from Kempinski and JTRE to inaugurate what many consider a transformative development for the islands.
“As global interest in the Turks and Caicos Islands continues to rise, Kempinski Grace Bay introduces one of the world’s most prestigious hospitality names to our untouched shores,” Premier Misick said. “This project is an important step in advancing our status as a world-class destination, offering investors and visitors a chance to experience the beauty and culture of our islands through exceptional service and refined luxury.”
Set across 11 acres of secluded beachfront, the property marks Kempinski’s first presence in Turks and Caicos and will bring the group’s 128-year legacy of European hospitality to the archipelago. Developed by JTRE, the project emphasizes understated architecture, meticulous craftsmanship, and deep respect for the surrounding environment.

Barbara Muckermann, Group CEO of Kempinski Hotels, emphasized the brand’s vision for the resort: “As one of the world’s oldest hospitality groups, we are proud to bring our art of hospitality to one of the Caribbean’s most coveted destinations. Kempinski Grace Bay will become a flagship of our global portfolio — a timeless expression of our heritage, our craftsmanship, and our belief in luxury that endures.”
The low-density design includes 119 private residences and four beachfront villas, each oriented to maximize sweeping ocean views. The interiors draw from the island’s natural palettes and materials, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living through the use of limestone, timber, and expansive glass.
“This groundbreaking signifies a new chapter not only for Grace Bay but for the entire Turks and Caicos community,” said Marek Baca, Chief Representative for the Americas at JTRE. “Our vision is to blend classic European elegance with the natural beauty of Grace Bay, setting a new benchmark for luxury living in the Caribbean.”
Future residents and guests will have access to a suite of world-class amenities, including upscale dining venues, a beach club, a 3,000-square-foot wine cellar, a European spa, an ocean-view fitness center, a sports pavilion with tennis and padel courts, and a children’s club. Sustainability is central to the project, integrating insulated glass, solar technology, and native landscaping supported by recycled water systems.

“Kempinski Grace Bay will be a defining destination for our brand in the Americas,” said Rasha Lababidi, Chief Product & Experience Officer at Kempinski Hotels. “It embodies our values of rarity, authenticity, and timeless grace — a place where every stay becomes a story.”
A Vision-Driven Partnership
Christophe Piffaretti, Chief Development Officer at Kempinski Hotels, also attended the ceremony. He played a pivotal role in establishing the partnership between Kempinski and JTRE, whose international portfolios span acclaimed developments in London, Slovakia, and Germany.
The collaboration builds on the companies’ shared commitment to design excellence, community engagement, and environmental responsibility — principles that shape the vision for Kempinski Grace Bay.
Construction is expected to continue through 2026, with completion slated for 2028. Sales are being handled exclusively by Christie’s International Real Estate Turks & Caicos and Engel & Völkers Turks & Caicos, with private ownership appointments available upon request.
