Monte Carlo, Monaco — The 2025 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) has launched Blue Wake, a groundbreaking programme designed to accelerate environmental innovation and sustainability in the yachting industry. Developed in partnership with the Water Revolution Foundation and supported by Siemens Energy, the initiative provides a rigorous, evidence-based framework to validate and highlight technologies with measurable ecological impact.
At the show’s 34th edition (24–27 September 2025), 59 exhibitors were recognised under strict criteria spanning emissions reduction, eco-design, circular materials, innovation, and marine ecosystem protection.

“The environmental transition in yachting is already underway, driven by tangible technologies,” said Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show. “This first edition demonstrates the industry’s innovation and growing commitment to sustainability.”
Recognising Innovation: The Blue Wake Awards
Held on 23 September at the Le Méridien Beach Plaza, the Blue Wake Awards celebrated five pioneering projects across the yachting value chain:

The awards underscored the sector’s ability to combine performance, design, and environmental responsibility—ranging from established shipyards to emerging innovators.
A Structured Framework for a Sustainable Future
Blue Wake sets a new benchmark for assessing eco-responsible innovation in yachting. Technologies showcased at MYS 2025 covered hybrid and hydrogen propulsion, alternative fuels, energy optimisation, water treatment systems, recyclable materials, sustainable interiors, green marina infrastructure, and environmental digital tools.
According to Robert van Tol, Executive Director of the Water Revolution Foundation, “The Blue Wake programme is grounded in data, transparency, and scientifically proven criteria. It rewards companies that have invested in R&D to deliver viable, real-world solutions for yachting today.”
Looking Ahead: Blue Wake 2026
Following the success of its debut, MYS plans to expand the programme in 2026, inviting more exhibitors to participate. Applications will open in March 2026 for confirmed MYS participants, with evaluations again led by the Water Revolution Foundation to ensure environmental credibility and practical impact.
Through Blue Wake, the Monaco Yacht Show reinforces its position as the world’s leading showcase for responsible luxury and a catalyst for the industry’s sustainable transformation.
