Milano, Italy – Renowned Italian design studio Nauta has completed a refined interior refresh of the 40-metre Abeking & Rasmussen sailing yacht 4K (formerly Alithia), giving the celebrated bluewater cruiser a renewed contemporary appeal while preserving the timeless character that has defined her for more than two decades.
Rather than undertaking a comprehensive refit, the project focused on carefully revitalising the yacht’s existing interiors. Almost every interior surface was renewed, natural tones were refreshed, and loose furniture and décor were updated to create a lighter, warmer and more sophisticated onboard atmosphere—ensuring the yacht is ready for many more years of global cruising.

Since her launch in 2002, 4K has established herself as a proven world cruiser, crossing multiple oceans and logging tens of thousands of nautical miles. Designed well ahead of her time, the yacht’s distinctive exterior—with its plumb bow, sleek sheerline and raised coach roof—continues to project a modern and purposeful profile, while her steel hull and powerful sloop rig underline her exceptional offshore capabilities.
Inside, the original design maximised the yacht’s generous internal volume, with expansive deck saloon windows and hull-side glazing flooding the living spaces with natural light. After years of extensive cruising, however, the interiors required a thoughtful refresh to restore their original elegance while adapting them to contemporary expectations.
Nauta approached the project with a philosophy of enhancement rather than transformation, preserving the yacht’s identity while introducing carefully selected design upgrades throughout the interior—from the navigation station to the owner’s suite.

“The 4K refit project is the result of a strong collaborative effort between the Owner, Crew, Brokerage team and Nauta, all working together with shared commitment and momentum to meet the Owner’s expectations,” said Martino Majno, Co-Director at Nauta.
“The design process was driven by a careful and conscious selection of proposals and interventions, developed within a tight schedule to ensure both efficiency and a successful outcome.”
Majno noted that the project focused on maintaining the yacht’s original spirit while elevating the onboard experience through subtle yet impactful design improvements.

Co-Director Guido Valtorta added that one of the primary challenges was successfully integrating new materials and furnishings with the yacht’s existing design language.
“The key challenge lay in harmonising existing features with new design solutions, combining refreshed materials, refined detailing and high-end furniture and décor to achieve a contemporary atmosphere,” he said.

“Soft finishes and bespoke craftsmanship are paired with a fresh and welcoming colour palette, creating an unexpected environment that fully unlocks the vessel’s potential. The generous layout and spatial arrangement, enhanced by natural light and sophisticated design solutions, offer guests a renewed and intimate onboard experience.”
Following the completion of the interior refresh, 4K is now available for purchase through Will Bishop of Superyacht Partners, with an asking price of €8.5 million. The yacht is currently located in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
